Okay, so you have a ton of specialized apps. I can defenitely see how that would be an issue. Repackaging stuff sucks.

But it seems to me that if the clients can autheticate with a domain controller, then the neccessary connectivity *should* already exist to grab software from a file share.

Anyhow, your situtation sounds a little "non-standard" to me. wink Most places have a rather open internal network and a common group of standard apps. We have exceptions too, where installing by hand is neccessary, but I try make that the last resort.
