PC Convergence
A PC is essentially a programmable controller offering great
flexibility. You can do anything and integrate anything with it.
As music and video, inclduing HDTV media are delivered by
download or subscription service why would you want a seperate
PC? Call it what you want like entertainment conroller or center
(EC) if that makes you happy.

Such an EC would be radically different form all the crappy PCs
currently made with much better OS software. Or nobody would
want or tolerate one!!! There are such operating systems that
cost practically nothing - DSL modems, routers, wireless
devices, cell phones, etc already in domestic use run these
already.

There are better options that go beyond current furniture style
and preferences. A wireless keyboard/mouse would support all
types of activity and games would be palyable on large LCD
screens at very high resolution situated several feet away. I am
currently am sitting in front of six remote controls on my coffee
table all with overlapping functions and made by the same
manufacturer - I can never remenmber how to use more than
10% of the functions without getting confused. Why would
anyone want that other than we have it? Several of the
expensive state-of-the-art boxes do not support current CD,
DVD, TV, etc standards and can not be upgraded without first
being thrown away. Why would anyone want that? They require
expensive antenna installations with wiring throughout many
rooms and they can not even handle rain showers? Why would
anyone want that?
