The OS is irrelevant.
Who cares, all I want to do is play/record movies/music and such. It might be nice to check my email, make a phone call (VoIP), get a few stock quotes, check the weather or check some sports scores all from my easy chair. But I want something that I can plug in and go. I don't want any software license BS or monster fees to pay or any other contracts to sign. And that is the biggest hurdle to date. The companies in a position to make it happen haven't figured out how to extract the maximum return. Still missing the killer app.
