I See Your Point... But...
When Apple FINALLY got around to fast user switching, Steve Jobs gave credit where credit was due. He said (in effect) "Microsoft got it right, so we just went one step further."

However, Microsoft has never made such a magnanimous statement. Like others have said, they come out with "same thing" technology and act like they have been innovators.
