... while it remains to be seen, Vista certainly DOES have some ME-ness about it. I think it's going to be a nightmare once it hits the streets, so hopefully they've got the successor in line already.

Linux Geek, while I appreciate your enthusiasm for linux (as a 100% desktop linux user at home for a couple of years now), posts like the one(s) you've made do little to help the cause. Zealotry and religion really have no place in computing. If you want to spread the word and show people how it's better, burn some livecds, take them to family, friends, anyone willing to listen, and let them try it. Check out some of the helios blogs - like where he converted a senior's activity centre over to linux and got them right irate over DRM in windows.

Vista will not be dead in the water. Linux will NOT take over the world by January. People will STILL run windows. Look at the numbers still running 95/98 ... they don't see a need for soemthing different, and it works for them - so let it! There's room in the world for multiple operating systems. I just wish hardware and software makers would get off their lazy butts and support the "big three" ... Windows, Linux, and Mac - in that order.

Sorry if I offended you by saying Microsoft has a right to exist and produce software, but it's not only true, it's necessary. If there wasn't a Microsoft to try to topple, do you REALLY think linux would be advancing as fast as it has the last 5 years even?? I highly doubt it.
