OK, so they changed the acknowledgement page...
It was there the first time I posted this link, which was the last time you brought up the issue. You didn't look then and I haven't looked there lately. You must realize also that there are at least four different Linux DVD players. They use a package called libdvdcss to read encrypted DVD's. This is perfectly legal in a number of countries where the DMCA doesn't apply. I know you'll push the issue so, here's the one and only USA legal Linux DVD player.

The Tahoma font is the only font in the paragraph requiring a license. I have IE on my machine so I have a license. Is that the best you can do regarding fonts? Who really can't live without Tahoma anyway?

The Win32 API, as you point out, is patented. There's no license in place restricting Open Source.

One good example of how open source is not restricted by IP is the RedHat Advanced Server. It has at it's base, GPL'd Linux combined with licensed Oracle database software. It doesn't have to be released as GPL code just because it's combined with Linux. Any IP that is licensed can be used with Linux. It's not a roadblock to development. Software doesn't have to be free, as in no cost. Even Stallman states that fact.
