Extraxt the Wealth via Littigation
We learned from Larry Ellison that shareholder wealth can be extracted by frivolous law suits. In Larry's case the shareholders recognized that even in settlement - out of Larry's own pocket, shareholders still paid significant legal costs which were out of their pockets. Larry eventually agreed to pay that as well.

But lets consider the Gates Family. For every litigation using a Gates Family law firm, fees paid by the shareholders to the law firm represent wealth extracted from shareholders that ends up in Gates family bank accounts.

Variations on the theam are likely used by mobsters everywhere with kickbacks from laywers of fees extracted from shareholders for services that no arms length mangager would have purchased during court actions and no honest officer would have taken on instead of settlement.

In Seattle there is a long history of of this wrong doing. The Mayor of Seattle at the turn of the 19th century sued himself as an individual for example.
