Define The Word Payment
You said "If you want software, abide by the terms of the licence and pay for it." What do you mean by payment? If the software is GPL then payment is not money, it the abiding by the terms of the licence.

I do agree if the developer, distributer, ect. wants money as payment one should pay the money for the use of the software, but not all software come with the same type of price tag.

You are right "TRANSAFAL", There's no such thing as a free lunch, and one should have to pay for the time and effort of another. The problem is that people on both sides of this arguement like to assume that payment has to mean cash.

People need to understand that using someone elses work comes the responsiblity of paying whatever costs the creator asks for in return, or don't use the creation.

It's simple no one has the right to one minute of my life. For to state that one has the right to demand my time is slavery, and slavery is never knoble, no matter how knoble the outcome. People must submit to my terms to obtain my time and effort, or refuse to use my time and efforts.
