Ah! The BSA argument!
I KNEW I'd seen the proposal before. Microsoft uses something like this to bully small business users into upgrading to software they don't particularly need by threatening to sue for "illegal" software usage. It's a scam to force upgrades and get more income.

Sort of like not being allowed to back up your stuff. You better have a commericial backup copy of everything you buy or else. Under the proposal, the burnt copies of software my corporate office send us field engineers could be considered illegal even though we pay MS through the nose for Enterprise licensing.

I don't have a problem with paying for something, but dang! Over and over and over? I don't think so! Copyright laws are more hindrance than help these days and are designed less to protect content than to guarantee unearned income long after there should be an expiration date.
