Rewards for poor behaviour

Let's see, they didn't meet the deadline, so let's reward them for not doing so by giving them more time.

I bet if they were fined a substantial amount (substantial for Microsoft) for every day they were late, they'd comply pretty damned quick.

"Microsoft attorney Charles "Rick" Rule described the difficulties the company had encountered in finding engineers familiar enough with the protocols to perform the documentation work, deeming the project "new" and "unprecedented" in the level of knowledge and resources required."

Wait a minute, Microsoft authored the protocols, and has authored software which uses the same protocols to ensure their software performs better under Windows than the competition. And they don't have anyone who is knowledgable enough to write the documentation? Does this mean the engineers don't know English? That's the only viable way that statement makes sense. Funny how they can backwards-engineer other companies' software, but not their own.

Again, I bet if they were fined for every day they were found to be out of compliance, they'd find a capable engineer. Even if it meant pulling them of Vista.
