InDesign already kicks Quark butt
People use Quark because creative staff at the designers and some pre-press places do not always like change. They may have a fortune tied up in XTensions that they use to do their work, as well.

Anyone who is "techie" that I know who has tried InDesign already thinks it far exceeds Quark in terms of power, features and elegance. The slow moving industry was not always so - it abandoned PageMaker very quickly when Quark came along. Why it can't muster itself and give sleepy Quark at least a well deserved warning that it might walk the plank, I don't know.
