It does ring tones and SIMS - WoW. No wonder my mobile is so slow.

Seriously, Java is a joke - especially on the desktop and client side. It tries to update every week to fix previous bugs (sorry that's add new features isn't it) and the last time it couldn't even update my JVM to the next version (wasted an hour). And as for speed - well it matches its 1970s interface.

So by all means use it in devices, but don't pretend it exists in the world of user computing. except as an annoyance.
