Why .NET?
Not to get in to a debate on programming languages, but truth is .NET is just as cumbersome as Java. But Microsoft still plans on bundling it in Windows and moving the OS more in to managed code. The Mono project has made quite a bit of headway in the direction of giving the same to Linux and Solaris.

This seems to be a trend. As computers get faster, the languages get more bloated and slow. Scripting languages, unlike interpretted languages like Java and .NET, are also becoming more and more popular. This has much to do with programmers wanting to program less to get features that used to take thousands of lines of code to perform in faster languages like C or assembly.

As for your buggy response, can you give an example? Seriously, submit a chunk of Java code that is properly written but will break.
