---My Linux install takes up 3.6 GB---
No, your Linux install takes a few Mb. The rest of it is all the additional apps you installed. What did you do? Choose install everything?
My Linux server, along with Apache, MySQL and PHP, some security tools, networking utilities, programming tools, source files and a few other items falls way under 1Gb.
The reason you have a custom install option is so you can taylor the machine for the job.
Why don't you take a look at all the apps you installed along with Linux and compare that to a comparable MS install. You will see a comparable MS install is much more than your 'Linux' install. - Posted by: zd-spam Posted on: 03/06/04 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
