Sauce for the goose
I don't think michael-t was making a logically precise,
legalistic assertion. That would be something
MicroSoft or O.J. Simpson would have to resort to.
His statement rather indicated that he does not trust
Microsoft's motives or methods, based on a long
history of customer manupulation and security
failures.
About the only thing MS hasn't failed at is marketing
and Digital Rights Management.
Microsoft won't have to manage my buddies list -- I
am already warning them of Windows insecurity and
Microsoft's desire to manage every aspect of our PC
and internet usage.
At work we have to use Windows, suffer the malware,
and reboot every few days.
At home, I didn't desert Windows,
Windows deserted me: BSOD.
After total refusal to restore or reinstall Win, we've
moved on to better things.
Of many options, our particular choice was Mandrake.
Haven't been disappointed.
