Unfortunately Accenture
DonnieBoy is correct, the best talent in IT will not find Microsoft attractive. In fact the mothers of the best new talent in IT will find Microsoft to be the least acceptable organization for their sons and daughters because it has been portrayed as a criminal organization. Well I suppose there may be a few talented IT folks already born into the mob that could find their way to MS. But why would they? I suspect Bill Gates is doing his level best to purchase himself and is first born out. Why go their.

Unfortunately talent at other companys can be obtained by Microsoft through purchase of the company. The entire research and development team in one acquisition can be had.

I suspect that for protection of Ballmer from Sarb Ox charges that Accenture is an attractive target. The key will be structuring the acquisition so it qualifies as a research and development tax break. Microsoft may even avoid paying any US tax with this bright bulb idea.

We in IT need to attach the plan by supporting changes in tax law that allow acquisitions to be categorized as R&D. Does anyone really think Microsoft will be doing real research in IT? They are a law firm not a technology firm and a firm called criminal by Judge Jackson.
