Spending Will Protect Management
The notion that the 2 billion will be used to protect management must be considered. For example both Ballmer and Gates could be viewed as being negligent in missing opportunities involving multi-core especially multi-core phone computers like those Intel will be distributing in countries of need (a one billion program). Think how valuable these low power consumption communication/photo/computer devices will be in communities subject to ethnic cleansing. But that is another story for Zdnet. How the Gates Foundation missed this is also a story to consider. Something is very wrong here when the opportunity to do good is so obvious and is obviously ignored possible because Microsoft technology doesn't fit in. It fits the Jackson categorizing of the company and by association the Gates Family being criminal.

The trial notion of further delay of Vista was launched this morning on a Seattle radio show. The time horizon is now past March of 2007. It really appears that Ballmer and Gates have been preoccupied with other matters and haven't been watching company operations as they should be.

It could be that Ballmer can escape charges under Sarb Ox of spreading himself two thin to perform the functions of an officer of Microsoft by having Microsoft purchase Accenture - the company formed from Arthur Andersen of Enron shredding fame. Ballmer only recently resigned from the board of Accenture. I suspect the purchase could be twisted by "bright bulbs" to qualify as research and development under US tax code.
