As I recall SAP was started in Germany by IBM engineers. Was the parting on good terms? I mean if SAP still has friends at IBM it is likely they are using Webshere tools which currently outshine Oracle Jdeveloper with the possible exception of incorporating AJAX.
But your bet needs to consider the likelihood of a SAP USA. This would follow what Oracle Did after taking over People Soft. A SAP USA could well be purchased by one of the companies likely to be split off from Microsoft.
Yes - the prospect of splitting Microsoft up, as a remedy to EU antitrust maters will be discussed. I hate the idea but seriously how do you rid the company of Ballmer and the Gates family otherwise?
