Name one big bet?
I really can't think of one that worked. Honestly I think Microsoft got to where they are by taking advantage of the stupidity of others. This goes all the way back to the start with guy from CPM refusing to deal with IBM. That's where you have to give Microsoft credit, they weren't stupid. Opportunity was presented and opportunity was taken advantage of.

Still in the end what were these big gambles then. Microsoft BOB?
