Ballmer has been Negligent
Darn it -- if this fellow just paid attention to Microsoft rather than spreading himself so thin by also sitting on the board of Accenture, until recently, he would not have missed the great opportunities with multi-core business PCs/phones and consulting. And it isn't like Intel didn't try telling him or that IBM's revenue stream from consulting wasn't obvious. This guy just didn't want to do the arms-lengh decision making required of a ligitimate US corporate executive. Furthermore if he still considers antitrust and other legal fees not material then he is misleading investors big time. Bring Sarb Ox on.

Finally, US consumers will not have money to buy new set-top and Hi Def equipment given oil prices. The Hi Def roll out will be delayed. The opportunities for Microsoft lie not there but out of country and EU doesn't like the Microsoft Way.

How much of the stock drop was owing to out-of-US investors (possibly China) deciding that the Bush administration will sacrifice Microsoft executives to counter the probaganda coming from the Gates Directed Washington Post? Ballmer is the problem at Microsoft. Gates is secondary to Ballmer. I like to think still reformable.
