Not just India
I presume India is where you are. But a lot of jobs now are bypassing you and going to China. Where, IIRC, the British went to war to get the right to supply heroin. In India it was made illegal to use salt that wasn't imported from Britain. I'm British and I'm ashamed. I'm also ashamed about Iraq - the U.S. would have had trouble going in (by which I mean: lack of popular support back home) if Britain hadn't been going in too. These days Britain is kind of like SCO - fill in Microsoft yourself.
