It's a good test for Linux.
1. Linux has convinced me that it is a very versitile system. I have used it in the lab running: VMD, DeepView, ICM Brower, MolMol 2k1 (all are protein structure viewers for PDB filez and more), Open Office..... If there is anything better than this, it will be only Linux itself.

2. The only potential concern for people is that it is so "too-good-to-be-true" and could it be that someone can attack it in terms of legal problem? Even though GPL clearly suggests this concern does not exist, but what if someone jut can....for money for sure!

3. Now there comes the SCO and it puts Linux to the test.

4. I do not consider SCO will eventually win; since what I have observed up to now is that they try everything but showing a valid proof to their claim. The only proof that "leaked" out to the public by a germany magazine (if I remember correctly) during a SCO presentation turned out to that SCO's proof was a joke.

5. Think about this: after Linux win this case (well, it should be after SCO failed in their claim), how many people will put out all the doubts in their mind and start to believe in Linux. A good flock of people who never even heard of or trying to ignore Linux will change their minds for sure (if not all).

6. Think about this as a good advertisement that SCO gives to Linux.

7. "What if SCO gets the call?" you might ask. Well, with all those respectable GPL programmers, they will eliminate all the codes that the SCO claims and come up with something even better (I really have no doubt about this).

8. Personal habit: I always buy Linux packages instead of download the iso images, just to show my support the hard-working companies who make Linux possible for general users. I know it might start to stack up a good amount of money with the speed those Linux distributors release their new version of Linux distribute package, but with all the money I saved that I only purchase one for 11 computers and the applications I can freely use in my Linux machine, it does not sound too much.

Or how about at least buy them once if you use that distributing package ^_^.

Have a nice day.
