Wow what a surprise!!!!
Finally someone with a brain. Very good points.
I'm just an end user giving linux a try and got
a very bad taste after having to recompile to get
my video drivers (nvidia geforce 4)to work correctly. What a pain that was!!!. Finally got
it work but was still disappointed. Linux right
out of the box as a desktop is incomplete. As a server it's a bargain(but I have win2k and so don't care that much about that). I love to fiddle and tweak and found it very hard to do so. Basic device drivers for the newest hardware should be included in the kernel or packages. Some would say they but I would say not yet.
I really hate to recompile to get the basic hardware working well ,,,not hacked!
