In the beginning . . . if a human created it
another human will create its counter measure. In these developer/programmer heavy times, entertainment business has to focus on genuinely growing consumer loyalty along with demand, especially the music industry which to a number of ppl has a problem of image and lack of customer loyalty. The RIAA suffers from a mafia styled perception, to a large number of ppl. So even as demand may not have dropped, the respect to explore only legal channels has whithered, especially when seen as big companies dictating what channels they feel are to be deemed so. IMO, a sincere effort is needed to reverse being thought of as an attackable business/organization. I?m not sure what is needed altogether for that effort. I stopped patronizing music years ago cause I guessed as much what would occur with the DMCA, copyright strengthening, Fair Use and Home Recording Act weakening, lawsuits, and companies and ?pirates? before the shot hit the fan.

A blocking mechanism is as good as its creators, and there may be somebody out there better than those creators, . . it certainly is perceivable as a gauntlet challenge. So maybe more consumer oriented services, a friendlier more flexible mode of operation, maybe even apologies for such panicked behavior would go a longer distance than just the next band-aid over their fears.

As for the rest, I don't remember ever making a proclamation for thieves, though I have prior stated that I don?t support thievery by either file swappers and/or record companies, from Kazaa to MAP price schemes. Oh well, guess one has to keep track of too many threads to have a complete tapestry.
