In the heart of a star
Star Office is just Java.

Ahhh --- no. Openoffice.org/StarOffice use Java for some functions, but it will run without Sun's JVM [1]. As someone who has compiled it more than a few times, I can assure you that the process spends most of its time running the C compiler.

[1] Annoyingly, it refuses to use other JVMs. I wouldn't mind so much if you could use Sun's JVM on a 64-bit system.
