Only when Firefox proved to be popular did MS chime in saying, "We can do it too! Don't stop us from innovating, y'all!!"

Once MS kills the new crop of competition, it'll go right back to being a worthless lazy-@$$. As usual.

Indeed, will MS even bother to make IE7 compliant with CSS? I doubt it. They want to use their own proprietary, and suspiciously insecure languages instead.

Just like how they are with security. Fortunately, hackers and end users are so angry that MS now has to grow up and deal with it. But they'll find ways to make the people pay for it too... oh yeah, they already have with their subscription-based services. MS needs to get the frig out of that division; leave it to the experts who won't go lazy once the mass competition is exterminated. We've seen Microsoft's practices and they will have to do a lot to show anyone with even half a brain that they do care... about more than their "bottom line".
