Worse thing since the flowbee
If VeriSign wins this suit then you can kiss the impartiality of the internet goodbye. Imagine typing in www.redhat.com and being redirected to a site owned by microsoft all because someone slipped a big pile of cash someone elses way. Imagine your favorite etailer's site unaccessable because a chain store layed down some crispy benjamins. This is not a good thing. While I don't whole-heartedly agree with ICANN's way of doing things, I'm inclined to think of what if Microsoft called ALL the shots in computing (they do control 85-95% of the computer market, but not all of it)? The internet was designed as an educational tool, but when business' saw how they could make a buck they jumped on it. I'm with ICANN on this one. Call me crazy, but I'd rather be in control of my surfing.
