I would LOVE to see Loveschlock, No_Ax, and Mike "Rep Man-Toy" Cox respond
This article proves that Microsoft can't come to the task and release anything on time. Delay after delay after delay, change after change, they toot their horn, show some bells and whistles, and then run back to their caves until the smoke clears and the shills have forgotten what they were promised to a few months before.

It's been SIX years since a major OS release from Microsoft (2003 server doesn't count) for the average consumer, and it looks like it's going to be another two before we see Vista hit the market...in the meantime, the open source community is steadfast catching up and will most certainly either come to par or pass you by and Ubuntu is the first shot fired.
