Visual Studio is a great tool
I used it so much in my professional life.
I've used it for Visual C++ and Visual Basic.
(although it does a lot more).
It really is pretty much best of class.
The IDE free with Javasoft SDK is pretty cool these days: I just wish the JVM would cache runtime compiled code so it didn't recompile it each time the class is loaded (which is dumb), and makes Java a little too slow compared to other desktop apps.
