Is this a result of Open Source, free (as in freedom) software?
Seems to me that thanks should go to competitors who are free as in beer. From what I have learned on the religious sect of the free software movement, this is an important distinction. I know better than to lump everyone who supports open source into this bucket - I love open source, it helps be build some of my solutions more quickly.
