Adapt or Perish
There's not even a smidgeon of altruisim in Gates' current PR campaign.

What Uncle Billy *really* wants is a continuing supply of skilled, bright, eager grads who will be willing to work obscene hours for not much money. And when he burns them out, he wants a good supply of fresh ones to choose from. He wants to be sure that his labor costs go down very significantly over the next few years.

There's a lot of skilled IT people out of work in the U.S..... many because they're just not willing to work at the same wage as a kid right out of school or somebody in who lives in a place where $20 a day makes you a wealthy person.

Over the long term, markets are fundamentally rational. The economy continues to become more and more of a level playing field globally, without regard to borders or unions or tariffs. So in the end we get back to the fundamentals of supply and demand.

Adapt or perish.
