Old Hardware is not supported by Windows XP.

And the problem with 10Base2 is not the cards- It's the drivers for XP. And the solution is not what you suggest- The solution is to go to the internet and grab a third party unofficial driver. You are going to throw away 10 35,000 pieces of equipment becuase XP refuses to supply drivers for the network card to control the equipment.
