SCO identifies Linux licensee

My comments are regarding the SCO license offer, Dave, and I am not commenting on the SCO case. Try to stay focused on the topic at hand! LOL!!!

You give the linux crowd a bad name.

All that SCO offers is a quit claim release to those who want to sign up for their IP license. It means that SCO will not sue the licensee and is a totally separate issue from any GPL or other license issue that may exist in the world. It can be dealt with independently, as some companies, including Microsoft, have chosen to do.

A service company like EV1 sells its loyal customers on the notion of uninterrupted service and their purchase of a license mere ensures that no disruptions will occur due to the legal maneuverings of SCO. That's really all that the licenses are good for anyway, i.e. keeping you out of court. If you think you can do that without a license, then go for it! But don't think you know anything and can run EV1's business better than they.
