It's pretty sad that our legal system is such that a company can threaten publicly to sue hundreds of other companies and individuals, while offering a "licensing" scheme to allow them to avoid being sued. That while the company provides zero hard evidence as to why they are entitled to the money being paid them.

I'm sure this Web company's legal team told them it was better to pay the "protection" fee than to risk being sued, but I can't shake the feeling that this is just a big, public Mafia tactic on SCO's part. Didn't they put guys like the "Teflon Don" away for this kind of thing?
