IBM heeds message to integrate IM, e-mail

Stagnant platform....

IBM's messaging picture is getting more and more muddled by the day. I don't think theyk now where they are going with it, and this is having DIRECT impacts on TCO and the ability to generate ROI. Of course, we have deployed Exchange and Live Communications Server. Although the level of interoperability between the two is virtually nil, the platform is so robust and mission critical that I have hired 4 time MCSE's to manage it by itself. They read the event logs every morning and create detailed reports around server uptime. Notes is just dying. I tried to take a few of my fellow CIO's off of the platform by hostign a lunch and learn with my MS rep. After wiping out the buffet, most of these ingrates left.
