iCampus is another effort by Microsoft to expand its presence in the academic community, where future professional software programmers are trained.

If they are trained entirely on M$ software, they won't learn anything except how to use those products. I've often said (and have seen in practice) that one can be a VB expert and still know very little about real programming. It's like someone who knows nothing about HTML claiming to be an expert web designer/programmer because they know Dreamweaver inside and out. M$ products are a collection of GUI shortcuts and camouflages, with all the actual work going on behind the scenes.

Learn Linux/Unix. Learn C/C++. Learn how things really work. THEN migrate to M$ if you want. You'll be much better off... not to mention much more employable.
