I'm not trashing it. I don't care enough to
Before trashing it, why not take a look?

Because (a) I don't have that much free time, and (b) I just don't care enough.

I run Fedora on my home server. I fiddle around sometimes with that, and I've looked at LiveCDs galore of Knoppix, Ubuntu, etc. It's just no longer that exciting to see..WOW!...yet another distribution using Gnome or KDE (or even Xfce).

The point I was making is that there are much more mature distributions of Linux that are destined for the desktop without looking at yet another backwater distro some college kid cooked up six months ago.

Linuxen of that kind are really no more than geek-hobbies...the direct antithesis of what the successful mainstream Linux desktop system--should one ever emerge--will be.

That system will be the modern-day equivalent of the Mac or the Amiga, of twenty years ago (and more). I can guarantee you it won't be another sub-1.0 project by some group of kids in Montreal or something.
