I think it is accurate...
You said in your original post "Linux properly setup can run without reboot for very long times." I said Windows could as well. You never defined what very long is.

And yes, service packs need to reboot the computer, but again that is because it is updating the kernel. Most hotfixes and updates do not require reboots. Also, all the software that I install in 2000, one once have I had to reboot 2000.

Yes, I may have to reboot my server approximately every month, but I automate that through a script, so I do not have to worry about it.

So Linux may not be have to be rebooted for nine months at a time, I think a reboot every month is ok by me. Just my opinion.
