We run our database on Sun V880s. They are rebooted for hardware upgrades only. Say twice a year. We have 2 linux servers for development. They are rebooted when they loser power (grin). We have 15 MS servers running file servers, Domino and other apps. We have a MONTHLY reboot schedule for all of them.

Yes, as to your note about 'properly maintained'. I've been in IT for 20 years and I guess I've never worked at a place with a properly maintained MS server, because (gorsh) both large and small companies I've worked in either schedule MS reboots regularly or the server reboots itself (grin) periodically.

To switch sides, I do like my MS desktop, but for servers, blech!
