Xen/VT Migration strategies
When VT processors (Intel and AMD) ramp up, Xen combined with XenEnterprise will be the IT choice for migration to Linux (from Windows).

Some legacy applications will be rewritten (e.g. in Eclipse RCP or Mono) but those that have to be managed will run on VT processors with Xen in dom0 as unmodified Windows guests.

Microsoft's move to make their Virtual Server 2005 Free isn't good enough in the long haul as it runs on top of Windows.

Xensource licenses Microsoft's VHD format!:

And not coincidentally VMWare opened up their VMX file format specification, with no royalties, or licensing restrictions.

Xen will enable migration stategies away from Windows platforms entirely for the cost-saving conscious IT decision makers.

The times they are a changin!
