Integrated Windows Virus Utilities...Bogus!
Lets imagine what windows is doing next....later this year xp service pack 2 will be out with the ability to identify 3rd party virus software installed and make sure its up to date and active, along with a connection firewall on by default......this is the same type of problem that internet explorer introduced.....it came free with windows and now 90% of online users use it...likewise bill gates has bought a software company that is fluent in virus software writing. I can forsee this now, an integrated virus utility embedded in longhorn, that will ship free with the OS....and 90% of online users will not renew mcaffe or norton subscriptions cause its free and its already installed (probably searching for updates by default without telling you) The problem is that someone will find a way to exploit it, and use it to get into the system through it. And because of windows tight integration other areas will be vurnerable to an attack....and we will have yet another case of "we are attacking longhorn virus capabilities because it is what 90% of online users have"
