Sometimes I wonder who the dummy at AOL is
For years, after outgrowing AOL and using many different dial ups and eventually broadband via cable, I kept my BYOA account with AOL as it was only $9.95/mo. I was able to use it as an additional source of information when web searching was not satisfying my needs. It allowed me to help newbies with their experience with AOL.

Then they went for a 50% increase in price. I was not about to pay $15/mo for a service rarely used and dropped my account. Aol was getting $120/yr from me and providing little or no service and virtually realizing a 100% gross profit on my account. I'm sure I'm not alone.

Also, why they insist on being so different from all the rest of us is beyond me. Rules that make no sense (incoming email with more than 3 attachments disappear into cyberspace) etc.

AOL had (has) the lead but cannot keep it with its head kept in the sand. It seems that everyone I know, once they tast the real internet, drops AOL with its high priceing. Internet dialup costs have dropped down to $10/mo so why pay them $23.50?
