AS/400 had this for at least 10 years
The AS/400 now called iSeries, has been doing this since the mid-90's. The current version will simultaneously run several instances of the native OS/400, including different versions and languages. It will run WindowsServer, it will run Unix, it will run Linux, still same box simultaneously. Each of these OS'es have watertight barriers.
Actually there was big discussions when it was announced the the AS/400 should run Windows, when sysadmins claimed about compromising the security by admitting windows into a product with top-notch security record. 20 years in the market - not a single report of badware.

Microsoft always claims innovation. Now what did they actually innovate - except the 8-bit FAT table ?
