This is good news
Im a Linux fan just as much as the next guy. But this really is good news for Windows users. Seriously. I think Microsoft should focus on fixing XP and keep on patching.


Delaying Longhorn could further benefit Linux, considered the chief threat to the dominance of Windows, said RedMonk analyst Stephen O'Grady.


I dont see this as an advantage to Linux. If Microsoft sticks with XP and just keeps adding and fixing it this is actually bad for Linux since XP users will not switch since their OS will keep getting better and better.

One of the key factors that has made Linux so visible is the cheap cost compared to the constant migration of Windows versions costing companies and home users lots of $$$. If XP does not require a migration than why would a company even look at Linux?
