Remind me why I care anymore?
Life is very nice with Mandrake and OpenOffice, so much so that I rarely boot to XP anymore. Not having wma and sick email that can auto-exec with system level (root) permissions upon opening is making PC use fun again instead of a burden. MS did bring ease of use and lowered costs for computing and I am thankful for that. However, MS is becoming as expensive as Apple. Yet Apple OS is a less vulnerable and better performing product based on my hands on observations. I guess monopolies think they can keep raising prices without consequence. Just like people forgot about "giants" like DEC, Altair, Osbourne and Compaq, they could forgot about Microsoft soon too. I have no reason to look forward to the Longhorn release at some point before I die since all my needs are met by Linux today at a price point that is lower than MS. TCO is lower than MS. Joy is greater in my life without MS. May your operating system, whatever it may be, make you happy and productive. Have a nice day.
