Remember the MS - Intuit Merger?
In 1995, MS attempted to purchase Intuit so that it could control the personal finance market. Intuit, of course, publishes Quicken, while MS publishes Money.

The DOJ came out against that merger and the deal was called off. The reasoning was that there were only two major players in personal finance software and the DOJ did not allow the creation of a monopoly in that area of software.

The constant assumptions and allegations by you and others in these forums that MS buys its way out of trouble are completely unfounded. Show me one shred of evidence ... real evidence, not conjecture.
