Obviously not, since Oracle has made it quite clear that if they take over a company that has the same application as they do, they will not keep 2 redundant product lines alive. Ellison and his gang of thugs put it straight that PeopleSoft resources (applications, employees) were throw-aways in this deal, and that what they really wanted was PeopleSoft's customer base.

Now, as many state and Federal governments have invested 10's of millions of dollars and several years into PeopleSoft software, you expect them to just say "Oh well, let's go out and pick some more millions off of the dollar tree" based solely on the whims of Oracle? Get real.

Most PeopleSoft customer's have looked at both Oracle's and PeopleSoft's offerings. They made their choice - they want PeopleSoft. Why would you find it so odd that they would reject Oracle yet again?

If you live in the US, you're most likely a taxpayer, meaning that if Oracle took out PeopleSoft then you're going to help Larry and the Oracle stock holders steal your money. It's your money that funds the governments. Businesses aren't too keen on this whole thing because of the costs and previous rejection of Oracle, too.

It's very simple - the only money that is key here is the potential profits for Oracle and stock holders. Not a great impetus to go merrily along in agreement my friend!
