Well...
I think virtualization works just fine for really uber-computers (the sort of thing IBM does currently).

It worked quite nicely for a dear old vax too. We were able to have it running multiple systems concurrently with not too much degradation way back in the 80's!! Please note, I'm classing a VAX as an uber-computer of the 80's, and this reflects only my own personal bias/opinion, so don't hammer on me, ok?
