Patents raise stakes in search wars

Gag me with a spoon . . .: This is way off of the original intent for patents. Patents are being abused so badly, it's not funny.

I *hate* living in a minefield where practically every piece of code I write has the potential to send me to court. It's not fun, and it's not funny. It's a serious problem of *other* people (patent owners) owning *MY* code!
