So far, so good
The best part of all: When I upgraded to FC4, somehow I "lost" my X installation. That is, all the Xorg bits were there, but I could not start an X session, so could not use KDE, Gnome or anything. Not a big deal, since it's my server and I do most of the administrating using the command line anyway (just an old DOS-era fogie, me), but it bugged me that I couldn't figure out what was wrong. It looked like "drivers" but

Well, when I updated to FC5 (using Yum), LO and BEHOLD, X was back! Everything's working again, just sensational!

The desktop appearance (in the default Gnome configuration) is gorgeous.

So much for the "toy" look of Linux past. FC5 certainly looks ready for prime-time!
